Well I have to admit...I've had a pretty frustrating time trying to get my project started. I had a
great idea....but I ended up having 'technical problems' that took the luster out of my endeavours for a while. How is everyone else going?
I'm happy to say that I'm back on track...but my 'research time' has sort of taken a back seat. I happened to mention the idea of audio recordings to a student & his parent...the pressure is on to now to record & send home stories immediately...I didn't get time to do my preliminary data gathering!! This is the reality of school sometimes...action first...research later, (if ever ...)
I wonder if I chose a different 'target student' whether I could just use the same recordings & books with them...after a proper data gathering exercise?
I suppose this is a real example of 'trial and error' ...

I rather think that you could take this two ways, have another student on the same readings and find another staff member to help with the workload. The project would remain yours, and we could help you just as you are helping so many of us. I am becoming very aware of just how far ahead that HFS is moving and it is good. Listen to the staff room chatter it is really buzzing with professional dialogue and we are just doing it!!!Thanks
Frances,
You are experiencing real life risk taking as we endeavour to improve student outcomes. If you need a hand just ask.
I should say that my 'technology problem' was simply that my CD burner on my laptop 'died'! The problem was easily corrected when I realised what was going on! Thanks Gary for your offer....I think I need a new laptop!!!!!
